Crazyness Wednesday

I'm back in Hockey Country! It's great to be back home, and I'm already swamped with people to see, things to do and of course... things to eat! :-)

Lots more to post but for now I saw this pic over at Venture Chronicles and thought the hilarity/obserdity fit the crazyness going on here :-)

Five Hottest List

Was listening to "3 Guys on the Radio" the other day and they were talking about something that I've been meaning to post about for a long time, from Steve's TGOR Blog we get the "top 5" list of hottie babes. On an old episode of "Friends" (season 3 episode 5) Ross (not EuroRoss mind you) has a laminated card of the 5 famous women he'd like to have sex with if given the chance and asks his girlfriend Racheal (who thinks its utterly ridiculous) to be allowed to do so if given the chance. Needless to say the discussion of who should be on the list between the guys was quite a debate.

Just to tie up the episode, Ross is convinced by his mates to leave off one actress for another "because she lives overseas and he should concentrate on the more likely domestic star encounters", only to find that actress in the very coffee shop he's in! He approaches her and tells her the story (which she finds charming) but when she asks to see his list she gets pissed because she's not on it and Ross loses the opportunity.

In the spirit of this episode I give you my current top 5 famous actresses on my "exempt" list, which changes on an almost daily basis :-)

# 1 - Alyssa Milano

Well ever since girls stopped having "cooties" and "Who's the Boss" hit the airwaves, I've been in love with Alyssa. She's always been my #1 and always will be [for famous actresses I mean ;-) ]

# 2 - Kate Beckinsale

A classic beauty who knows how to kick it with such fighter flicks as Underworld and romances like Serendipity:

# 3 - Victoria Adams

Probably would be #2 if if weren't for a little space for rent upstairs. None the less stunning:

# 4 - Rachael Stevens

Now that she's out of that crappy S Club 7 band to focus on her equally bad solo career hopefully she'll have more time to search around the world looking for me ;-)

# 5 - Diane Lane

A bit of a surprise, and as the oldest one on the list perhaps a little perplexing, but if you've seen the heat in her movie "Unfaithful" and you combine that with the class and wit of her personality then you'll certainly be won over by this beauty:

Some others that have been on the list at one time or another that don't quite make the cut anymore but would be worthy of anyones list for sure: Kate Boseworth, Laetitia casta, Rachel Stevens, Maura Tierney, Catherine Zeta Jones, Keri Russel, Pam Anderson, Avril Lavigne, Jessica Simpson, Jacinda Barratt, Katie Holmes, Shania Twain, Jenny Garth, Elizabeth Hurley, Leslie Bibb, Racheal Bilson.

Any suggestions? Did I totally overlook sombody? Who's on your list (girls and guys)?

One

When you develop an infatuation for someone,
you always find a reason to believe,
that this is exactly the person for you.

It doesn't need to be a good reason,
taking photographs of the night sky for example.

Now in the long run,
that's just the kind of dumb, irritating habit,
that would cause you to split up.

But in the haze of infatuation,
it's what you've been searching for,

all... these... years...

Bonnes Anniversair!

Holy Cow! I was looking for an old post when I found this one that was still in "draft" mode despite the fact that I distinctly recall posting it almost a month ago! Oh well, better late than never I guess?? ;-) Well maybe this French post mimics the culture eh ;-) Without furthur ado I give you some pics from one of our bike tours of Paris:

Breathtaking:

The cycling gang:

Anyone know what this builing in the park is? I ask because they had a huge Canadian flag on the back window!

Oh the fun when one of yor mates passes out!

The night was a blast, some of us got totally wasted, phrase of the night: "Boated and Loaded" ;-)

Oh Canada!

I just found out that O.C. hottie mom Kelly Rowen was actually born in my hometown Ottawa, Canada! Wow, Kelly's the prototypical example of what you'd define as a MILF (mother I'd like to F#$%). Finding out she's homegrown Canadian just shot her up my list even further. Speaking of "the list", I'll have a post sometime next week :-) Until then might I just say: Ms. Rowen... well done! :-) :-p

Update: In case you didn't know Evangeline Lilly from ABC's new TV series "Lost" is also Canadian. This update is certainly just a shameless stunt to post more hot pics to my site... yummy :-)

All Saints Revisited

One of my girlfriends got dumped last night and needed a shoulder to cry on. I just send her a "breakup" CD with a bunch of songs to help her feel better including a new Danish song I found out about while travelling there last week. If you love the All Saints (and boy do we love em!), then you'll definatly like this Danish artist Anna David. Her song "Fuck Dig" is basically a song dissing the ex, quite "pop-y" but definatly worth a download. Anyone got the exact english translation?

Fuck Dig - Anna David

Don't worry baby, time heals... and so does chocolate ;-)

Update: Thanks to Betts who got the translation in!

There was a time when you could make me do anything
Be there at any hour because it really mattered
And I’ve taken my beatings and picked you up when you fell
But that’s over now

I think you should take your things now and leave
I’m sure you’ll find some one who’ll put up
With all the fucked up stuff that you expected me to put up with
It’s over baby

Try to understand I want you to leave- now
No more words, no more slack - now
Cause deep inside you know, it’s too late

For all the times that you stood me up
For all the time I never will get back
For all the times you have disappointed me
And forgot about me, kept away, used me, fuck you

For all the times you pissed me off
For all the times you were way too weak
For all the times you have dissed me, yes
And forgot about me, kept away, used me, fuck you
So fuck you…

There was a time where I was sure that you were the one
I should cry with and laugh with and love with but
You have proven that you were the wrong man to trust
So it’s over now

Try to understand I want you to leave- now
No more words, no more slack - now
Cause deep inside you know, it’s too late

For all the times you stood me up
For all the time I never will get back
For all the times you have disappointed me
And forgot about me, kept away, used me, fuck you

For all the times you pissed me off
For all the times you were way too weak
For all the times you have dissed me, yes
And forgot about me, kept away, used me, fuck you
So fuck you…

Oh The Shame

Two nights ago on live prime time TV one of VFB Stuttgart's arch enemies, BVB Dortmund lost to a lolely third league (now moved up to 2nd) team 2-1 with a goal from the oppositions captain with less than 10 minutes left in the game; once again proving that the Liga Pokal is the greatest idea of a tournament ever! The only thing that's possibly even more embarrasing for BVB would be this showing on national TV (BVB is in yellow, NSFW - not safe for work).

Well if it's going to be a tough season for VFB then at least we can get some consilation from the fact that BVB is also having a nightmare of a season. I know they say "don't take pleasure in someone else's pain", but in this case I pee on you BVB fan! :-)

Et Le Fin

In yellow jersey Tour De France-esc style we wrap up last weeks tour in Paris. As you can tell from the photo we arrived into town just after midnight allowing Griz to see his first Eiffel tower lit up like a christmas tree:

When you're traveling around on the subway for 16 stops you've sometimes gotta make your own fun ;-)

Considering the fact that Grizzy was in Paris for only 24 hours we headed out early the next morn to do some power sightseeing. Even though our biking idea got totally screwed, we were still able to get our feet in motion and hit the mainstays, strike a pose Grizzy ;-)

Alo alo!

Tres cool, I'd love to be rumling downtown Ottawa with this bad boy!

Gizzy vs. Eiffel:

Don't ask me, it was a long day being exposed to lots of heat which might have had something to do with this pic:

After a long day of sightseeing (and bank-seeing, another story altogether) I took Griz over to the local Canadian ex-pat bar The Moose. Yes they sell Moosehead (locally brewed though) but we decided upon a highly recommended Molson-Canadian style beer on special that day, man that was one cold, smooth beer!

The Moose is cool, love the "50":

That's it! All caught up from Grizzy's short stint on mainland Europe. I might post some of the other photo's he got but probably just on Flickr instead of the main sight. Thanks to everyone who we met on our tour and who made it fantastic :-)

The Journey Continues...

After a fun night in Stuttgart we managed to finally re-unite German and Grizzy in Darmstadt. The boys were on the town and in a mood to get busy!

Trick photography from the water spout I swear! Although I don't know what Griz and German are looking at ;-)

Grizzy the angel or devil? "Mach's Mit!" :-)

Hitting the Irish pub on a Sunday night at 3am sometimes means drinking alone. Actually Grizzy just cleared the place by dropping a bomb ;-) I swear all these pics looked like they were in focus that night! ;-)

From the home of a self-professed Leaf fan... the truth is revealed! :-)

The next morning we had to go sightseeing. On tap was hitting the art's district with it's cool architecture (pics to come but are currently on Grizzy's camera in London) and even more impressive... the biggest beer store in Germany! (yes they even sell some Canadian beer, Molson Canadian and Moosehead)

A busy travel schedule starts to take it's toll... off to Paris!

Nap Time

It's Sunday afternoon after a long couple weeks of traveling, partying and gettin' it on... time for a nap ;-)

Stuttgart Grizzy

Well we're almost done posting all the pics from last week, whew! After an insanely long day on the train trying to clean the cobwebs from the wedding nights party out we finally made it to Stuttgart. Of course Grizzy needed to experience the joys of cold beer, good friends and people watching only found at CBP :-) We were definatly the classyest cats there with our wine tasting companions!

T-dot showed up a little late... please do not ask me whats going on here because I have NO idea!

Rocking through the Stuttgart Hbf (main train station) on route to T-dots. (click the photo below for a video)

Waitin' for the train just ain't what it used to be!

Great times that night, thanks to T-dot for being host extrodinaire and the gang for not choosing a scary movie ;-)

Wedding

Seeing Karlsruhe Kris yesturday reminded me to get my ass in gear and post the rest of the wedding pics! So here goes, we start off where we left off, returning from Cologne Friday morning to get our class-on at the wedding. Here's the pre-afternoon gang. You can forgive the fuzzyness of Karlsruhe's picture as he might have been a little nervous ;-)

The wedding was held at this cool castle on top of a nearby mountain. Maybe some predictive marriage bells in the future here? ;-)

The ceremony was held in the castle church, a very quaint room within the compound. Da Dum De Dum... the music's going and it's about to start!

No worries, the ceremony when off without a hitch, beautifully done would be an understatement, don't they look great together! Congrats Karlsruhe and Hefe!

Leaving the late night dancing, partying and "other" pics from the evening for any who e-mail, we now show the gang the next morning hiking up the mountain to Karlsruhe's parents house to drop off our gift and say our goodbye's:

Once again congrats guys, you two are perfect for each other and I couldn't be happier for you both! PS> Hefe when do you finally convince Karlsruhe to give up cheering for that regionalliga destined team HSV and cheer for a real team like VFB eh! ;-)

With that we were off on a 5 hour (more due to a soccer match stop-over in Frankfurt pictured here) journey to Stuttgart to hook up with the rest of the gang:

The Globe

Unfortunatly we won't be able to hook up in London before I have to jet back to Canada. One of the most disappointing things about that (besides not being able to see my friends and family of course!) is that I also won't be able to go to a Shakespearian play at The Globe theatre. This theatre was constructed in the old Shakespearian style and only shows his plays. Some of the best theatre I've ever seen has been there, alas I have not been able to go for the past 2 years and now that I'll be missing it next week it looks like I'm going to have to wait a little longer. Sigh.

If you're ever in London, I highly recommend hitting The Globe for some great theatre.

Hamburg Kicking Kickers

Yesturday we rocked over to an opening pokal game between the Stuttgart Kickers and Hamburg pieces of crap ;-) For those of you who don't know, the German Soccer Pokal tournament is a tournament featuring all teams from first second and third leagues as well as some regional team champions etc all competing against each other. The excitement of course is when these big first league teams come and play regional third and fourth league teams and sometimes lose! So these games tend to be very exciting for the home team even if they lose because they get a chance to see superstars play in their small villages. It's the most exciting soccer of the year and inevitably at least one team loses to a shitty third or fourth league team (this year Cologne actually lost in the first round!). So we headed to the game with hopes of a Kickers upset win, of course we had to stop by CBP first (happy birthday Kristina!) and then off to the game in style ;-)

Some of us got to the game a little early... well maybe in perfect time as we could sit with the locals and enjoy a beverage:

Gametime, Go Kickers!

One minute before halftime Kickers tied up the game with a penalty kick! One-one going into the second half!

Unfortunatly despite a strong start to the second half, Hamburg got a cheap deflection goal which broke the back of the Kickers. They then got some late goals, including a clear dive penalty shot ;-) to finalize the game at 5-1. Despite the score the game was extremely exciting. Here the locals chear their Kicker players after the game:

Good times:

Our token Hamburg fan, Karlsruhe Kris somehow mistakenly got the times mixed up and showed up late. Despite a plethora of calls and sms's (which did not go through apparently) and a halftime run around the stadium to try and find him, we were unable to hook up until after the game. Needless to say he was one happy camper:

Today is the third day of pokal so I'm off to watch my VFB Stuttgart team crush some local nobodies ;-)
